Visa ban looms as Adeyanju warns Akpabio over harassment of female lawmakers

Popular human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has issued a stern warning to Senate President Godswill Akpabio over alleged harassment of female senators, threatening to push for a visa ban on him and his family if the actions persist.
Adeyanju’s statement follows a controversial incident where Senator Natasha Akpoti was reportedly ordered to leave the Senate chamber by Akpabio, which he described as part of a pattern of unfair treatment towards female lawmakers.
The lawyer stressed that female senators should be treated with the same respect as their male colleagues and criticized Akpabio for what he termed a double standard, sparing male senators from similar actions.
Adeyanju has previously advocated for visa bans on individuals accused of human rights violations.
In the past, he petitioned the US, UK, Canada, and the European Union to place travel restrictions on Police PRO Olumuyiwa Adejobi and his family over alleged suppression of free speech in Nigeria.
