What Mbappe said after debut goal for Real Madrid

Real Madrid’s new summer signing, Kylian Mbappe, has expressed his joy after scoring his first goal for the club.

The French captain made his debut in the UEFA Super Cup final against Atalanta on Wednesday.

In his first appearance for Los Blancos, the 25-year-old superstar netted the second goal, sealing a 2-0 victory for the Spanish LaLiga champions over the Serie A side in Poland. Mbappe’s debut goal marks a promising start to his Real Madrid career.

Speaking to Spanish television channel Movistar Futbol after winning his first trophy for Real Madrid, Mbappe said (via Forbes):

“It has been a great night. I have been waiting for this moment for a long time, to play with this shirt, with this badge, for these fans.

“It’s a great moment for me. And we won a title, which is important. In Madrid, you always have to win.”
