The Lagos State Government has sealed off DONALD Restaurant, a popular nightlife spot owned by socialite Pascal Okechukwu, famously known as Cubana Chief Priest, for violating environmental regulations.

According to the Managing Director of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Muyiwa Gbadegesin, the closure followed the arrest of two restaurant staff caught indiscriminately dumping refuse by the roadside.

Gbadegesin revealed via his X handle that the Chairman of the Lekki Estate Residents Association (LERA) raised the alarm in the early hours of Saturday, May 18, 2025, over illegal waste disposal along Durosimi-Etti Street, Lekki Phase 1.

“A white Ford van with Abuja registration number GWA 136E was intercepted while dumping refuse improperly. Further investigations linked the vehicle to DONALD Restaurant located on Road 14 within the estate,” he disclosed.

The suspects were promptly apprehended by LERA’s security personnel and taken into custody. Reports said the duo allegedly attempted to bribe the security team with ₦100,000, an offer that was firmly rejected.

LAWMA’s enforcement team later sealed off the premises for gross environmental infractions in contravention of the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law of 2017.

Gbadegesin confirmed that the suspects would face prosecution, warning other residents and businesses to comply with proper waste disposal regulations.

“LAWMA remains steadfast in its mission to maintain a clean and livable Lagos, and we urge everyone to embrace responsible environmental practices,” he added.
