Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s potential 2027 presidential bid, stating that it will end in failure.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Olayinka criticized Atiku for what he described as self-deception, following six unsuccessful attempts at the presidency.

“Six unsuccessful attempts at the presidency, he won’t stop lying despite his age. 2027 will definitely be his seventh failed attempt,” he wrote.

His comments come after Atiku recently stated that he had no regrets about not choosing Wike as his running mate in the 2023 presidential election. In response, Olayinka asserted that Wike also had no regrets about being overlooked in favor of former Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa.

Atiku, who has contested for the presidency in 1993, 2007, 2011, 2015, 2019, and 2023, lost his most recent attempt to President Bola Tinubu.
