Woman allegedly kill sister with cutlass, attacks Mother, Niece in Enugu

A shocking incident has shaken the Aji community in Enugu-Ezike, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, as a woman allegedly killed her younger sister with a cutlass and attempted to harm her mother and niece.

The exact timing of the event remains unclear, but a widely circulated video suggests the suspect may have been under an unusual influence. In footage shared by Anyika TV, she claimed, “I was possessed by a strange being; it was not me that did it.”

Eyewitnesses reported that the woman appeared disoriented and in distress while confessing to the crime, stating, “I don’t know what came over me; I just saw myself with the cutlass and started attacking them.”

Her mother and niece, who sustained serious injuries, have been rushed to Bishop Shanahan Hospital in Nsukka, where they are fighting for their lives. A family member expressed deep shock, saying, “We don’t know what could have led her to do such a thing.”

Efforts to reach the Enugu State Police Command for comments were unsuccessful, but sources confirm that officers in Igbo-Eze North have launched an investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
