‘You are just a social media lawyer’ – Paulo slams Adeyanju over Burna Boy criticism
Music executive Paulo Okoye has publicly criticized activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju for dragging Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, into the ongoing controversy surrounding the arrest of Speed Darlington.
Adeyanju had earlier accused Burna Boy of hypocrisy, claiming the artist embodies Fela Kuti’s activist spirit in his lyrics while allegedly oppressing others.
In a sharp response shared via his Instagram story, Okoye defended Burna Boy, dismissing Adeyanju’s remarks as baseless and unwarranted.
He referred to the activist as a “social media lawyer” and insisted he lacked the authority to malign Burna Boy’s reputation.
In a fiery post, Paulo wrote: “Deji Adeyanju or whatever they call you!!!! Can you put respect on Burna Boy’s name. Why are you even calling Burna Boy’s name?? Smh You are nothing more than a social media lawyer. Lawyer my a$$$. Get your facts right before you open your gutter mouth. Control your client.”
This exchange follows Speed Darlington’s allegations linking Burna Boy to American rapper P. Diddy, who is currently facing legal issues in the United States.
Speed Darlington suggested that Burna Boy’s success, including his Grammy win, was influenced by his association with P. Diddy, raising questions about their connection.
The accusations led Burna Boy to file a petition against Speed Darlington for alleged cyberstalking.
This resulted in the rapper’s arrest in Abuja by the Intelligence Response Team (IRT).
In a further twist, Speed Darlington’s mother accused Burna Boy and his team of orchestrating her son’s arrest. She pleaded with the Grammy-winning artist to facilitate his release.
