Arsenal snatch stoppage-time victory against Leicester in dramatic comeback

Arsenal scored twice in stoppage time to secure a thrilling victory over Leicester, overturning a spirited Foxes comeback.

A 94th-minute Wilfred Ndidi own goal and a close-range strike from Kai Havertz in the ninth minute of added time sealed the win for the Gunners, denying Leicester a well-earned point at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners took control early, with Gabriel Martinelli opening the scoring by slotting home a Jurrien Timber cross.

Martinelli then set up Leandro Trossard for a second goal just before half-time, giving Arsenal a comfortable lead.

Leicester, who had barely threatened before the break, mounted an unexpected fightback.

Just a minute into the second half, James Justin’s header, deflecting off Havertz, halved the deficit from a Facundo Buonanotte free-kick. Justin then scored a stunning equalizer, volleying in Ndidi’s cross to bring the visitors level.

Despite being rattled by Leicester’s recovery, Arsenal pressed forward. Mads Hermansen, Leicester’s goalkeeper, made two brilliant saves to keep his side in the game, stopping a Havertz close-range effort and a Trossard shot after a poor clearance.

However, Hermansen could do little to prevent Arsenal’s late surge. Trossard’s deflected shot off Ndidi gave Arsenal the lead before Havertz sealed the victory with a tap-in moments later.

This win moves Arsenal level on points with Manchester City, while Liverpool have the chance to overtake both if they beat Wolves later on.
