Nigerian police operatives disrupted a peaceful protest in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Tuesday, as demonstrators rallied against economic hardships and poverty.

The protesters, participating in the #FearlessInOctober movement, were met with teargas and live ammunition as they marched through areas like Jabi and Utako, chanting slogans like “We are hungry.”

Led by human rights activist and #RevolutionNow convener Omoyele Sowore, the protesters voiced their frustration with the Bola Tinubu administration’s policies.

Banners displayed messages such as “Bad Governance has ended the dreams of Nigerian youths, end it now” and “Enough is Enough – Revolution Now.”

Despite the police crackdown, Sowore reiterated his commitment to standing with Nigerians in their fight against rising fuel costs, unemployment, and poverty.

Sowore, who has faced imprisonment and detention under previous administrations, vowed to continue the protests until the government’s policies change and the people’s demands are met.
