EFCC nabs 33 suspected internet fraudsters in Port Harcourt
Operatives of the Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 33 individuals suspected of internet fraud in Rivers State.
The arrests, made in the Iwofe and Ogboro areas of Port Harcourt, followed a sting operation based on credible intelligence.
In a statement released on October 2, the EFCC revealed that the suspects were apprehended in their hideouts and found with various items, including mobile devices, laptops, fake United States Dollar notes, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) stamps, Customs stamps, airport clearance stamps, and two vehicles.
The EFCC confirmed that the suspects will be charged to court following the completion of investigations.
