Lil Durk arrested in Florida on murder-for-hire charges
Prominent American rapper Lil Durk, born Durk Banks, was reportedly arrested Thursday night in Florida on murder-for-hire charges.
Held without bond at Broward County Jail, he is awaiting transfer to the custody of U.S. Marshals, according to XXL Magazine.
The charges relate to the 2022 killing of Saviay’a Robinson, cousin of rapper Quando Rondo, allegedly linked to gang conflicts. Authorities believe the attack on Robinson was retaliation for Quando Rondo’s suspected role in the 2020 murder of Chicago rapper King Von in Atlanta.
Banks’ arrest follows the detention of five other suspects earlier on Thursday, all facing similar charges of murder-for-hire and conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire. The suspects, identified as Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston, are being investigated by federal authorities as the case progresses.
The high-profile arrest has shocked fans and the music industry, with ongoing developments in what appears to be a deeply complex and active investigation.
