Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, is set to marry Titilayo Ashabi, marking her as the seventh wife of the traditional monarch.

The Ooni’s personal life has often made headlines. He welcomed his first child, Adeola Aanuolouwapo Ogunwusi, in May 1994 with Omolara Olatubosun while they were teenagers in Ibadan.

Though they never married, they co-parented their daughter, with Omolara later revealing in a 2021 interview that Ogunwusi was an absentee father during Adeola’s early years.

In 2008, the Ooni married Adebukola Bombata, but the union ended in 2016. Shortly after, he wed Zaynab Otiti Obanor in March 2016. However, that marriage also ended in divorce by August 2017, following Zaynab’s decision to initiate separation proceedings.

In October 2018, Ogunwusi married Prophetess Morenike Naomi Oluwaseyi. However, in December 2021, Naomi announced their separation via Instagram. This announcement was later disputed by the palace, although Naomi continues to maintain a public presence.

Between September and October 2022, the Ooni married six women. His first marriage during this period was to Mariam Anako, an Ebira native from Kogi State, on September 6, 2022. The following day, he wed Elizabeth Opeoluwa Akinmuda, an indigene of Ondo State. Tobi Phillips, hailing from Okitipupa in Ondo State, became his third wife on October 9, 2022.

On October 14, 2022, he married Ashley Afolashade Adegoke, a princess from Ile-Ife, and then on October 20, 2022, he took Ronke Ademiluyi, another princess from Ile-Ife, as his fifth wife. Finally, on October 24, 2022, Asake Temitope Morenike Adesegun was added as his sixth wife.

Recent speculations circulating on social media suggest that the Ooni of Ife is planning to marry Titilayo Ashabi, potentially making her his seventh wife.
