The leadership of the Biafra Independence Movement/Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (BIM-MASSOB) has made a passionate appeal to former U.S. President Donald Trump to recognize Biafra as an independent nation, just as he did with Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

In a statement signed by BIM-MASSOB’s Director of Information and Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mazi Chris Mocha, the group emphasized that such recognition would be the only lasting solution for peace in Nigeria.

BIM-MASSOB also expressed support for the reported tough measures taken by the United States against Nigeria, including the planned deportation of illegal immigrants and the seizure of private jets and properties allegedly owned by Nigerian politicians.

The statement read: “BIM-MASSOB, known for its non-violent approach in advocating for the freedom of over fifty million oppressed people, believes that just as Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, a similar ‘Executive Order’ should be extended to Biafra.”

The group further claimed that Biafra, as the 46th member nation of the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO), is still looking up to the United States for liberation from what it described as political slavery in Nigeria.

“We believe God saved Mr. Donald Trump’s life for the betterment of world politics, to stop ongoing wars, and to correct historical injustices that have remained unresolved for over a hundred years,” the statement added.
