EXCLUSIVE: Pregnant woman dies as Doctor watches YouTube tutorial to carry out surgery in Imo

A pregnant woman has reportedly lost her life after a doctor allegedly performed a Cesarean Section (CS) using a YouTube tutorial at Lebechi Hospital in Owerri, Imo State.

Her husband, Onyekachi Eze, revealed the shocking incident in a viral social media video.

Accompanied by popular Nollywood producer Stanley Ontop, he reported the case at the Imo State Police Command on Tuesday.

Eze recounted his ordeal:

“I took my wife to the hospital when she was in labor, and the doctor said she needed an operation because she was bleeding.”

“The female doctor called another doctor to come and operate on her. Right in my presence, they were watching YouTube videos on how to perform the surgery, and I lost both my wife and baby in the process.”

Following the report, Stanley Ontop posted an update confirming that the hospital owner had been arrested, while the nurses were also taken into custody.

“The owner of the hospital where doctors were watching YouTube on how to perform surgery has been arrested.”

While some nurses have also been detained, the doctors involved in the surgery had absconded, and police are currently searching for them.
