Galatasaray: José Mourinho handed four-match ban for controversial comments after Istanbul derby

Fenerbahçe head coach José Mourinho has been handed a four-match suspension and fined over €40,000 by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) following remarks he made after a heated Istanbul derby against Galatasaray.
The disciplinary action comes after Mourinho, 62, made controversial comments following Monday’s goalless draw, including describing the home bench as “jumping like monkeys.”
He also reportedly reiterated his criticism of Turkish referees, further fueling tensions.
The TFF’s disciplinary council ruled that Mourinho’s remarks about the fourth official warranted a two-match ban, while his comments directed at the Galatasaray bench earned him an additional two-game suspension.
His words were deemed “contrary to sporting ethics.”
Mourinho, whose team trails league leaders Galatasaray by six points, was also fined just over €42,000.
