BREAKING: Court halts Senate from probing Natasha

A Federal High Court in Abuja has halted the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions from disciplining Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

The decision came on Tuesday after her legal team filed an application without the other party present.

Justice Obiora Egwuatu, who handled the case, granted the order, stopping the Senate from taking any steps against the senator representing Kogi Central.

This legal move follows an invitation the senator received to attend a meeting with the committee regarding a dispute she had with Senate President Godswill Akpabio on February 20.

At that time, the committee planned to meet and indefinitely suspend her.

Senator Natasha had recently accused Akpabio of making inappropriate advances towards her, stating that after she rejected him, her contributions in the Senate, especially those concerning the Ajaokuta Steel Company were repeatedly ignored.

These claims have led many to call for a proper investigation, although the Senate has said it will not look into the matter since no formal petition has been received.
