Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin was born in Burutu, Delta State, Nigeria, on February 15, 1971.

He grew up in a polygamous family and is the 22nd child out of 36 children of his late father, Livingson Stevenson Toboukeyei Fufeyin, his mother was Asetu Fufeyin.

Fufeyin attended Zuokumor Primary School in Burutu for his primary education and Gbesa Grammar School Ojobo for his secondary education.

Ministry

In April 2010, Fufeyin founded Christ MercyLand Deliverance Ministry (CMDM) in Effurun, Delta State, Nigeria.

Under his leadership, the church has gained a significant following and is known for its deliverance services. Fufeyin is also recognized for his philanthropic efforts.

Philanthropy

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he donated approximately N300 million to staff, church members, and the Nigerian government. He also returned tithes and offerings to his congregation as a gesture of giving back.

Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin is married to Anthonia Fufeyin, and they have four children together namely; Harriet, Kindness, Goodness and Happiness.

Controversies

Fufeyin has faced various controversies throughout his ministry. His public displays of charity and focus on deliverance have attracted criticism.

In 2017, he defended Pastor Suleman Johnson against sexual misconduct allegations, declaring him innocent.

In 2022, Fufeyin sued Pastor Johnmark Ighosotu for defamation and cyber conspiracies after Ighosotu accused him of fraudulent activities.

In March 2023, Fufeyin’s church was destroyed by fire, which he attributed to disobedience to God’s instructions.

In January 2024, following allegations of abuse in the Synagogue Church of All Nations under the late T.B. Joshua, Fufeyin criticized Joshua’s former inner circle and urged his supporters to defend him against his critics.

In August 2024, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin faced controversy involving Nigerian activist Martins Otse Vincent, also known as Verydarkman (VDM).

The dispute arose over Fufeyin’s sale of miracle soap and water, which he claimed could cure barrenness and other diseases, and even promised that women using the soap would conceive twins.

Fufeyin assured his congregation that these products were registered with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

The public’s skepticism led to unauthorized visits to NAFDAC offices to confirm the registration status of these items.

The situation was further complicated when VDM released a viral Instagram video accusing Fufeyin of exploiting what he claimed were divine gifts for financial gain. This criticism fueled widespread debate and heightened scrutiny of Fufeyin’s practices.
