BREAKING: Fire guts section of Lagos Blue Line track

A fire broke out on a small section of the Lagos Blue Line track near the NEPA Station, close to Eko Bridge in Apogbon, Lagos State.

The incident, which occurred at around 4:12 p.m. on Saturday, was shared by Gboyega Akosile, the spokesperson for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on social media.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported, and train services were not in operation at the time of the incident. Emergency responders and safety personnel were dispatched to the scene and quickly brought the situation under control, extinguishing the fire to ensure safety on the Blue Line track.

“Lagosians in that area can go about their business peacefully as the situation is under control.

“Kindly await further details on the operations of the train from @Lamataonline,” the post concluded.
