BREAKING: Gov Fubara fires LG caretaker committee chairman, appoints replacement

Rivers State Governor, Siminialayi Fubara, has suspended Otonye Briggs, the Local Government Chairman of Akuku-Toru, with immediate effect.

The announcement was made on Tuesday, September 17, in a statement signed by Fubara’s Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi.

Following the suspension, Governor Fubara appointed Bitebobo Nelson Amieye as the caretaker committee chairman to oversee the council’s operations.

Briggs has been instructed to hand over all council properties in his possession to the newly appointed caretaker.
