The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the suspension of Samuel Ortom, former governor of Benue State, due to alleged anti-party activities.

Ortom was suspended alongside Isaac Mffo, Azua Ashongo, and Bemgba during the Ward Congresses held on July 27, 2024, at the 276 Ward headquarters.

According to a statement released by Joseph Iyam, the APC state secretary, on Monday, Ortom was accused of leading and facilitating the theft of election materials in his local governments.

This disruption resulted in the failure to conduct congresses in Buruku, Gboko, Ushongo, Guma, Tarka, Kwande, and Ohimini local government areas.

“These acts constitute anti-party activities. Consequent upon the above you are suspended for one month in the first instance and recommended to the State Disciplinary Committee for further adjudication.
