Dangote Petroleum Refinery has successfully exported two cargoes of jet fuel to Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil producer and a key player in the global petroleum industry.

This was disclosed by Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, during a visit by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) to the Dangote Fertiliser Limited and Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos.

Dangote attributed the export deal to the world-class standards and advanced technology used at his $20 billion refinery, which is the largest single-train refinery in the world.

“We are reaching the ambitious goals we set for ourselves, and I’m pleased to announce that we’ve just sold two cargoes of jet fuel to Saudi Aramco,” Dangote stated.

Commending the achievement, NESG Chairman, Niyi Yusuf, emphasized that Nigeria needs more investments of this scale to reach its $1 trillion economy goal.

“To achieve a $1 trillion economy, much of that must come from domestic investments. This refinery, fertiliser plant, petrochemical complex, and supporting infrastructure are monumental,” Yusuf said.

He further stressed the importance of such industries in Nigeria’s industrialisation, supporting SMEs, and improving food security and national development.

In response, Dangote reaffirmed the critical role of the private sector, arguing that Nigeria must reduce its reliance on imports and focus on creating jobs and self-sufficiency.

He pointed out that major economies like the USA and China actively protect their industries to sustain economic growth and employment.
