EFCC nab popular TikTok star Murja Ibrahim Kunya for Naira abuse in Kano

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Kano State has taken TikTok sensation Murja Ibrahim Kunya into custody over alleged Naira mutilation and abuse. 

The social media influencer was reportedly arrested for spraying money at public events, a practice that contravenes Nigerian law.

A source within the commission confirmed her arrest to Freedom Radio Kano, revealing that she is currently being held by the EFCC.

In recent times, the EFCC has ramped up its crackdown on individuals engaging in the indiscriminate spraying of Naira notes at social gatherings such as parties and birthdays.

The act, deemed illegal under Nigerian financial regulations, is part of a broader effort to protect the integrity of the country’s currency.

Murja Ibrahim Kunya, known for her vibrant social media presence, now faces legal consequences as authorities continue their enforcement against currency abuse.

Recently, the commission also arrested other TikTok influencers, including Al’amin G-Fresh and Ashir Idris, on similar charges.

As of now, neither the EFCC nor Murja Ibrahim Kunya’s legal representatives have issued an official statement regarding the matter
