Ex-Obasanjo ADC, Major Gen. Chris Jemitola, slump, dies in Abuja

The Nigerian military has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of Major General Chris Jemitola (Rtd), a former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Jemitola, who served as Obasanjo’s ADC from 2003 to 2007, reportedly collapsed at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja on Thursday morning. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. The cause of his sudden collapse remains undisclosed.

His unexpected passing has shocked the military and defense community, with tributes pouring in from colleagues, friends, and associates who remember him as a dedicated officer and strategist.

As of the time of this report, his family has not released an official statement regarding his funeral arrangements.
