Exclusive: APC Director of Admin, Adeyemi Adediwura resign from position
The Director of Administration at National Secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Professor Adediwura Adeyemi has resigned his appointment.
Prof. Adeyemi was a lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Osun State before he was appointed by the past administration of Abdullahi Adamu-led administration.
News360 Nigeria gathered that former National Secretary of APC Senator Iyiola Omisore, who also hails from Osun State, influenced Adeyemi’s appointment.
The reason for the his resignation could not be ascertained as at the time of filling this report.
Our reporter gathered that Prof. Adeyemi has handed over since Monday.
In an appreciation message Adeyemi sent to the staff platform seen by this medium, he expressed gratitude to all the staff for their cooperation with him while serving the party as Director of Administration.
The message reads: “I want to sincerely express my gratitude to all staff members of the National Secretariat of APC for the wonderful cooperation with which you worked with me while I was the Director of Administration. Thank you all. You are all appreciated.”
Some of the staff who spoke with Discoverer Nigeria described Prof. Adediwura Adeyemi as a peaceful, dedicated and approachable Director of Administration.
Another source, who pleaded not to be named told this paper that the outgone director was accused of corruption, “which include diversion of trucks of rice and trailers of fertilisers donated to the party.
The source said: “We were all shocked when the information came out this morning. He confirmed the development on the staff platform.
“Initially we thought he was consumed by the Osun politics between Omisore and the current National Secretary, but it, however cleared this afternoon that allegation of corruption; diversions of truck of rice and fertilisers led to his resignation.”
All efforts to speak with Prof. Adeyemi was unsuccessful as his phone was switched off.
It was, however, gathered that the University Don might have returned to his former job immediately.
