West Armenia striker Ibrahim Yusuf, formerly of Sunshine Stars in Nigeria, has earned a spot in the Armenian top-flight Team of the Week for the second time, News360 Nigeria reports.

Yusuf’s selection follows an outstanding 45-minute performance as a halftime substitute, where he netted both goals in a 2-0 victory over Alashkert last Saturday. This marks West Armenia’s second win of the season, with Yusuf playing a crucial role.

The 20-year-old now boasts three goals and one assist in four games for his new club. His first goal came in a 2-1 triumph over Utartu, where he scored a late match-winner.

Before joining West Armenia, Yusuf spent two seasons with Sunshine Stars in the Nigeria Premier Football League, scoring 13 goals and providing three assists. He had previously come through the youth system at Remo Stars.

FC West Armenia FC was founded in 2019 and are based in the capital city of Yerevan.

They are spending their second season in the topflight after they won the Armenia First League in the 2022/23 season to gain promotion.
