Gov Fubara, family exits govt house amid crisis

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has vacated the Government House in Port Harcourt alongside his family and security details.
Reports indicate that Fubara left the premises on Wednesday morning, though the reason for his departure remains unclear.
Despite his exit, security presence at the Government House remains minimal, with only a small number of operatives stationed at the facility.
However, daily activities in Port Harcourt continue as usual, with residents going about their routines without disruption.
This development follows President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State on Tuesday.
The President cited the non-functionality of the legislative arm as the reason for his decision, raising concerns about governance and political stability in the state.
He appointed Retired Vice-Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas to take over the administrative functions of the state.
