Iconic ‘The New Masquerade’ star, Ovularia to be buried on December 6

Seven months after her passing, beloved Nigerian actress Madam Elizabeth Evoeme, widely recognized as Ovularia from the popular 1980s TV sitcom The New Masquerade, will be laid to rest on December 6.

The actress, who brought joy to many through her role on the show, was born on December 1, 1942, and passed away at 81 on May 5, 2024, surrounded by family.

According to a burial announcement from Chief Emeka Evoeme, a service will be held in her honor at his residence in Umuaba, Okpu-Umuobo, Osisioma Ngwa, Ava, Abia State, followed by her interment at the same location.

Fans and family will gather to celebrate the life of this extraordinary actress who left an indelible mark on Nigerian television.
