Is Sultan of Sokoto dead? – Read the truth
The Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC) has dismissed recent rumors suggesting the death of the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, labeling them as “unfounded” and urging the public to disregard such misinformation.
Disu Kamor, MPAC’s executive chairman, affirmed that the Sultan is alive and in good health, calling for caution and vigilance in news verification.
MPAC condemned the spread of these baseless rumors, citing their potential to mislead and cause unnecessary panic.
The organization further called on law enforcement agencies to investigate the source of the rumors, identify those responsible, and implement measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
As the leader of Nigeria’s Muslim community, Sultan Abubakar is a highly respected figure.
He has held the title since November 2006, succeeding his late brother, Muhammadu Maccido, who tragically died in an air crash.
