Katsina Anti-Corruption Agency arrests ex-Permanent Secretary, five others over N136m fraud
Katsina State’s Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested a former Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Muheeb Ibrahim Bamidele, and five others for allegedly embezzling public funds.
Bamidele, who previously served as Permanent Secretary in the Department of Banking and Finance and now holds the same position at the Katsina Local Government Service Commission, is accused of misappropriating N136,126,970 from departmental accounts.
Dr. Jamilu Abdulsalam, Executive Secretary of the Katsina Anti-Corruption Commission, confirmed the arrests in a statement released on Monday.
He revealed that investigations are ongoing to uncover the full details of the alleged financial misconduct and to ensure accountability.
