LASU graduate found dead in boyfriend’s apartment, suspect on the run

A graduate of Lagos State University (LASU), identified simply as Adija, was discovered dead in her boyfriend’s apartment in the Meiran area of Lagos, with the suspect reportedly fleeing the scene.
The incident, which occurred on February 26, came to light after Adija’s family, concerned about her unanswered calls, went to check on her at the residence she had told them she was visiting. Upon arrival, they found the door locked and, after breaking in, discovered her lifeless body on the bed, covered with a duvet.
According to an Instagram user, @Eyeopener, who shared details of the case, the couple had been in a toxic relationship since Adija’s first year at LASU. Neighbors revealed that they heard noises from the apartment on the night of the incident but did not intervene, as the couple frequently had arguments.
A family source, Tosin, described Adija as an easy-going person and noted that her mother, a single parent, had worked hard to raise and educate her children. Tosin also disclosed that the suspect had reportedly called Adija’s mother, stating he was “ready to die.”
Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, said efforts were ongoing to apprehend the suspect.
Meanwhile, a similar tragedy unfolded in Ogun State, where a man identified as Oju allegedly stabbed his 36-year-old wife, Josephine Isaac, to death in their home in the Agbure community.
The Ogun State Police Command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, revealed that Josephine’s younger sister, Blessing Isaac, reported the incident, stating that the couple had a violent altercation at about 1 a.m. on Thursday, during which Oju fatally stabbed his wife in the neck before fleeing.
