Michael Olise to receive first French National Team invite
Michael Olise, forward for Bayern Munich, is approaching his first call-up to the French national team as the international break approaches.
According to The Daily Mail, Didier Deschamps, the head coach of France, is contemplating including the 22-year-old in the senior squad.
Olise, who is eligible to represent Nigeria, Algeria, and England due to his Nigerian father, French-Algerian mother, and English birth, made a notable impact at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
He played a crucial role in France’s silver medal finish, scoring two goals and providing five assists.
In 2021, he was also named a standby player for Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho, under the management of Gernot Rohr.
Olise’s standout performance for Crystal Palace last season led to a £52 million move to Bayern Munich, where he joined Vincent Kompany’s squad.
