Nigerian TikTok Star Peller allegedly on FBI watchlist over alleged past involvement in fraud
Nigerian TikTok sensation Peller has reportedly attracted the attention of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) following allegations of his past involvement in internet fraud, commonly referred to as “Yahoo-Yahoo.”
Controversial investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo disclosed that an FBI source informed her about Peller’s suspected connections to cybercrime activities.
Olunloyo claims that Peller, during a TikTok session, admitted to participating in internet fraud before gaining fame and transitioning to legitimate content creation.
The 19-year-old influencer, known for his engaging content on TikTok, has been advised by Olunloyo to exercise caution with his public statements, warning that past admissions could lead to serious legal consequences.
She drew parallels to the case of Hushpuppi, a Nigerian influencer currently serving a prison sentence in the United States for cybercrime-related offenses.
“If you know Peller, please tell him to SFTU. He’s on the verge of single-handedly destroying his own future,” Olunloyo cautioned, underscoring the increasing focus on influencers suspected of cyber fraud.
Olunloyo’s claims have ignited a range of reactions on social media; while some dismissed them as “another cock and bull story from the journalist,” others noted the potentially severe consequences if the allegations his true.
