Pastor allegedly machetes wife to death in A’Ibom (photo)

Residents of Effiong Essang Street in Oron Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State were thrown into shock on Monday, March 10, 2024, after a man identified as Victor Okoh allegedly butchered his wife, Victoria Okoh, with a cutlass.

According to eyewitnesses, the tragic incident occurred around 5:20 a.m. following a heated argument between the couple. The 42-year-old man, said to be a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), reportedly locked their house from the outside to prevent neighbors from intervening before attacking his 38-year-old wife.

Neighbors recounted that the pastor had earlier asked his wife to leave for her parents’ house the previous night but later called her back inside.

t remains unclear what led to the fatal attack, but witnesses said they heard Victoria’s desperate screams for help while the doors remained locked.
