Police nab two female suicide bombers after multiple bomb blasts

Authorities declared on Sunday that two female suicide bombers were apprehended in connection with the detonation of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in the Gwoza local government area of Borno State on Saturday.

A local government official, confirming the incident to LEADERSHIP, revealed that 30 female suicide bombers were dispatched to Gwoza to detonate IEDs at various locations. So far, four suicide bombers have successfully executed their deadly missions.

One of the female bombers, originating from the Pulka axis, detonated her IED during military interrogation at a checkpoint, resulting in the deaths of herself, a soldier, and a civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) member.

The bombers infiltrated Gwoza from different directions, including Pulka and the Mandara mountains. Security forces are actively searching for the remaining bombers to prevent further attacks and ensure the safety of the area.
