Portable escapes attempted assassination, suspect apprehended (video)

Nigerian music star Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt on Wednesday in Ota, Ogun State.

The incident, which Portable shared in a video obtained by SaharaReporters, involved a man armed with a gun.

The video shows a visibly shaken Portable, who cried out for public sympathy, shouting, “They want to kill me!” A tense scene unfolded as a half-naked man, believed to be the assailant, was detained while still holding the firearm. Bystanders could be heard demanding answers, questioning, “Who pulled the trigger?”

This harrowing experience has left the artist distressed, though further details about the incident and the suspect’s identity remain unclear.
