The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 10,250 personnel to provide security during the upcoming Anambra governorship election scheduled for November 8.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Corps spokesperson, Afolabi Babawale, quoted the Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, as saying that the officers would ensure maximum security before, during, and after the polls.

Audi added that the deployment would include tactical units from the national headquarters and neighbouring states to guarantee a peaceful and orderly election.

He further noted that the NSCDC will collaborate closely with the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies under the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) to protect voters, electoral materials, and officials.

The corps also assured Anambra residents of its unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order while safeguarding citizens’ fundamental rights throughout the election period.
