Students Loan: NELFUND disburses over N2 Billion to six tertiary institutions (+FULL LIST)

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has provided a detailed account of its recent disbursement of N2,026,163,340 to six tertiary institutions across the country for institutional fees.

In a post on its official X handle on Saturday, NELFUND confirmed a report by The Guardian, which listed the names of the beneficiary institutions. The universities include the University of Ibadan, Bayero University Kano, University of Ilorin, University of Benin, University of Maiduguri, and Federal University Dutsinma in Katsina State.

According to the report, Bayero University Kano received the largest share of the funds, amounting to N853,775,000, while the University of Benin received the smallest allocation of N24,412,500.

Akintunde Sawyerr, Managing Director of NELFUND, stated that the funds are intended to cover institutional fees for over 20,000 students across these institutions.

The breakdown of the disbursed amounts among the six institutions is as follows:

1. Bayero University Kano N853,775,000

2. University of Maiduguri N589,001,500

3. Federal University Dutsinma, Katsina State N304,961,800

4. University of Ibadan N201,114,650

5. University of Ilorin N52,897,890

6. University of Benin N24,412,500
