Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, urged Abuja residents to remain calm and patient with the Tinubu administration.

During an inspection visit to the construction site of the nine-kilometre Paikon Kore-Ibwa rural road in Gwagwalada Area Council on Monday, Wike expressed satisfaction with the project’s progress and quality.

He emphasized that the road is among those the president has prioritized for completion in satellite towns and noted that the contractor has committed to finishing and handing over the road by December this year.

He said: “I’m very happy and the contractor has promised that by December, they would have completed and handed over. This is a nine-kilometre road.

“It’s interesting because this is one of the roads in the satellite towns that Mr President instructed must be completed.”

Wike also stated that the road project, when completed, will improve access to farmlands and markets in rural areas, adding that it will also help to address the challenges of food insecurity in the country.

He urged the communities around the area to be patient.

“I will continue to urge them to be calm, to be patient. This government is fully prepared to turn things around,” he said.
