Wike gets approval to splash N33.24bn on new projects in Abuja (Full list)

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Executive Committee, led by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has greenlit contracts worth N33.24 billion for multiple projects slated for the coming year, aimed at boosting essential services across Abuja.

Following the committee’s recent meeting, Chidi Amadi, Chief of Staff to the Minister, detailed that these investments will support critical infrastructure, including roads, energy supplies, and facilities for key institutions.

Dr. Chinedum Elechi, Mandate Secretary of the Transportation Secretariat, disclosed that N7.22 billion has been allocated for constructing access roads to the Kugbo and Mabushi bus and taxi terminals. The project, to be handled by Planet Projects Ltd, has a 12-week completion deadline.

The committee also approved contracts for fuel supplies: N2.92 billion for diesel and PMS for the Wupa Basin Sewage Treatment Plant, awarded to Safah and Fresh Ltd., and N638,550 for diesel at the Lower Usuma Dam Water Treatment Plant.

In addition, a N7.83 billion project was sanctioned for an access road to the EFCC Academy in Giri District, assigned to Levant Construction Ltd., with a nine-month target.

Further approvals include N2.19 billion for new staff quarters at the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, and N9.88 billion for refurbishing Bill Clinton Road, linking to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, awarded to Julius Berger with a six-month deadline. Additionally, N605.94 million has been set aside for office furniture, equipment, and vehicles for the Legal Secretariat.
