A violent conflict between Tiv and Fulani tribes in Taraba State has claimed the lives of at least five persons on Saturday.

The conflict took place in Maraban Azagwa, which is in the Maihula region of Bali Local Government region.

Sources indicate that the clash was triggered by the death of a Fulani man at a local beer joint owned by a Tiv man. Relatives of the deceased Fulani man accused the Tiv community of being responsible for his death, leading to the confrontation.
