Bobrisky: Falz sues Verydarkman over defamatory statement
Falana & Falana’s Chambers has issued a formal demand for the immediate retraction and withdrawal of defamatory statements made against Nigerian artist and activist, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz.
In a letter dated September 26, 2024, addressed to one Martins Vincent Otse, the legal firm acting on behalf of Falz, called attention to a post made on Instagram by Otse on September 25, 2024. The post, titled: In everything and everyone that is mentioned here, I will be disappointed if truly FALZ and his father are involved in this whole Bobrisky issue…allegedly contained false and defamatory claims involving Falz and his father, renowned human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, in connection with Nigerian cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky.
The letter from Falana & Falana’s Chambers emphasized that Falz never initiated any conversation with Okuneye and that they possess documentary evidence proving that it was Bobrisky who reached out first. The legal team described the allegations as baseless and requested that Otse retract the statements to avoid further legal consequences.
Falana & Falana warned that failure to comply with the demand could result in legal action to protect Falz’s reputation from any further damage caused by the false claims.
