FG upgrades Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) to a Federal University

The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially taken over Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) in Ijagun, Ogun State, upgrading it to a federal university. This marks a major milestone in Nigeria’s educational sector.

Established in 2005 by the Ogun State Government, TASUED is Nigeria’s first specialized university of education, named after Dr. Tai Solarin, a renowned educationist and activist.

With this transition, TASUED becomes the first federal tertiary institution in Ogun East senatorial district, enhancing access to quality education in the region.

Since the university already has a well-established academic structure and infrastructure, the change to federal ownership is expected to require minimal additional investment.
