Is Rochas Okorocha dead? Read the truth
Ebere Nzeworji, an aide to former Imo State Governor and Senator representing Imo West, Rochas Okorocha, has debunked circulating rumors of the senator’s death.
In a statement released on Thursday morning from Abuja, Nzeworji confirmed that Okorocha is “hale and hearty” despite reports suggesting otherwise.
The false claims began spreading on social media on the evening of November 6, alleging that Okorocha had died in a London hospital. Nzeworji assured the public that Okorocha was at his Unity House office in Garki, Abuja, around the time the rumors surfaced. He added that the senator had just returned from Owerri, Imo State.
Further dispelling the misinformation, Nzeworji recounted Okorocha’s recent engagements, including attending the funeral of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu on November 1 and hosting a gathering at his Spibat residence, where he welcomed the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, and other dignitaries.
Nzeworji remarked, “One can now begin to wonder about the motives of those behind this fake news.
“Senator Okorocha is a patriotic Nigerian who has served at both state and national levels with distinction, building friendships with well-meaning individuals across the country and the globe.
“The former governor has never wished anyone dead and is always cheerful and caring about the wellbeing of others.
“We, therefore, call on all well-meaning Nigerians and the global community to disregard this fake news and be assured that His Excellency, Senator Rochas Okorocha, is hale and hearty.” (PUNCH Online, excluding headline)
