Factions within the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have resolved to set aside their differences and work together for the party’s progress.

The reconciliation meeting, held over the weekend, took place at the residence of Alhaji Muritala Ashorobi, the first Chairman of PDP in Lagos and the current head of the party’s Reconciliation Committee in the state.

The gathering was attended by key figures, including former PDP Deputy National Chairman Chief Olabode George, former Minister of Cooperation and Integration Dr. Abimbola Ogunkelu, former Board of Trustees (BoT) member Mrs. Aduke Maina, Lagos State PDP Chairman Mr. Philip Aivoji, Captain Tunji Shelle (retd), Alhaji Ramoni Owokoniran, Dr. Niran Adeniji, and other members of the Reconciliation Committee and State Executive Council.

Following the meeting, the party leaders issued a communique declaring their commitment to reclaiming power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.

The statement read: “The meeting also resolved that the status quo in the party remains. All members must unite. Party members across the 20 local government areas in the state must mobilise Lagosians to wrest power from the APC in 2027.

“The meeting also warned some members working for APC underground to stop or leave PDP immediately.

“It also warned that anti-party activities will no longer be tolerated. APC has really disappointed Nigerians and must be voted out in 2027.”
