Legendary Nollywood actor, Emmanuel France passes away
Renowned Nollywood actor Emmanuel France has passed away, leaving the Nigerian film industry and his fans in mourning.
The heartbreaking news was shared by Nigerian filmmaker Olufemi Ogedengbe on his Instagram page on Monday.
In his tribute, Ogedengbe described Emmanuel France as a legend, reminiscing about their memorable time working together on three movie projects in Tanzania in 2006.
France’s passing marks the end of an era for many in the industry, as he was a beloved figure known for his exceptional talent and contributions to Nigerian cinema.
The films included Cross My Sin, She Is My Sister, and The Director. While the cause of France’s death remains unknown, Ogedengbe’s message reflected the fond memories they shared.
He wrote, “Rest in peace to one of Nollywood legends. Uncle Emmanuel France, One of the actors I took to Tanzania in 2006. Shot three movies with him: Cross My Sin, She Is My Sister, & The Director. R.I.P.”
Recall that Shina Sanyaolu, a renowned producer and director in the Yoruba film sector, who was known for his huge contributions to the industry died on the 12th September.
